The publisher of Thisday newspaper, Nduka Obaigbena, is reported to have returned a total sum to the tune of N350m to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He was said to have returned the said sum on Tuesday. He is however expected to pay an outstanding N200m next week. It would be recalled that the Commission had questioned Obaigbena on January 29, 2016 for allegedly receiving N670m from the immediate past National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.). Obaigbena was, however, released by the Commission after 24 hours after when he was said to have signed an undertaking to make a refund of the money in two weeks. EFCC, however, gave him a 14-day period of grace, to repay the money he collected from the office of the National Security Adviser under Sambo Dasuki. It expires next week Tuesday.
