Embrace Peace, Buhari Tasks Religious Leaders

A call has gone out to religious leaders and groups across the country to avoid activities that could go against the law and instead ensure public peace and order in Nigeria. Giving this call, President Muhammadu Buhari, who was represented by the Minister of Interior, General Abdularahman Danbazzau when he visited Zaria, Kaduna State to assess the impact of the violent clash between the Nigerian Army and members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria last Saturday, emphasised the need to give respect to constituted authorities and existing laws to ensure proper conduct. President Buhari also warned that the government under his watch would not tolerate any form of lawlessness or disregard of the rule of law by any religious organisation or individual.
