The Court of Appeal, Ibadan Division on Thursday concurred with the October 23, 2015 judgment of the Ogun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which upheld the emergence of Ibikunle Amosun as governor of the state. The Appellate Court, presided over by Justice H.M Ogunjimiju, also threw out the appeal initiated by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Adegboyega Isiaka challenging the victory of Amosun. The Appeal Court held that there is no evidence before the court to show that the number of voters exceeded the number of those accredited. The Appellate Court also declared that the election complied with the provisions of the Electoral Act. Justice Ogunjimiju therefore insisted that the appeal was lacking in merit and dismissed same.
