We’ll Find Solution to Shiites, Soldiers Face-off, Says Northern Governors

Governors from the 19 Northern states on Saturday made a vow to find a solution to the clash between members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Shiites and the Nigeria Army in order to prevent what they termed a repeat of the poor handling of the Boko Haram Episode.Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF), and incumbent Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, maintained that the Forum was meeting in Kaduna concerning the incident in Zaria, for the reason that the affected Islamic group has membership across the nineteen states in the north and beyond.Shettima said, “We are not in any way comparing the Islamic Movement with Boko Haram, no. But we don’t want the same mistake that happened after the Boko Haram crisis to repeat itself.”
