The Tudun Wada ward of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, has announced the suspension of the senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial zone, Senator Shehu Sani.
In a letter dated December 27, 2015, which was addressed to the suspended senator, the party said the action will last for a period of 11 months.
APC further added that Senator Sani is also suspended from partaking in or attending APC activities in the state.
In the letter jointly signed by the Secretary of the ward, Ahmed Abdulhamid, the Public Relations Officer, Auwal Mai Anguwa, and an ex-officio member, Aminu Alilan, the party listed Sani’s offences to include: uttering statements that allegedly violate the rules of engagement of the party, factionalising the party, and engaging in anti-party activities by criticising the policies of Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
A part of the letter reads: “Hardly a week passes by without his group being on air to criticise and challenge the enduring legacies of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, that his statement on national issues is not in conformity with that of the state government.”
It would be recalled that the leadership of the APC in the state had invited Sani to appear before its disciplinary committee within seven days to clear himself of what the party described as his “anti-party stand.”
But Sani was said to have declined the invitation on the reason that the APC in Kaduna state had lost its footing since it did not have any recognisable leadership.
