The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Sunday declared incumbent governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson, as winner of Saturday’s governorship election which took place in the state. Dickson contested under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He defeated his close contender, Timipreye Sylva who contested under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to INEC, Dickson polled 134,998, while Sylva polled 86,852.
