Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo sets to host senior civil servants

Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, would hold an interactive session with members of middle level senior civil servants on Wednesday.A news release from the Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media and Publicity) Office of the Vice-President, Laolu Akande affirmed that the Acting President is scheduled for a meeting on the executive orders on business environment and promoting “Made-in-Nigeria products.Akande said: “These are the people who will be directly responsible for the attainment of the objectives of the executive orders, so the Ag. President wants an opportunity to talk with them directly and also hear from them in person.”Akande said the meeting would be transmitted live by conventional media and online streaming noting that ensuring a desired execution of the orders was necessary for general good of Nigerians.He also revealed that activities lined up for the celebration of the second year in office of President Buhari would include a presidential level Report Card event on Social Investment Programs of the administration, which is set for Aso Rock on May 29.“Here at this national event, we shall be updating Nigerians on the progress so far attained, how we are addressing some challenges and how President Buhari’s Social Investment Programmes (SIPs) would be significantly expanded going forward,” Akande said.The release also contained the drive with which the Buhari administration would achieve new executive orders in an effort to revamp the business environment and how public businesses should be run.The N-Power programme, which gave the opportunity to 200,000 unemployed Nigerians graduates for volunteer job programmers and the Conditional Cash Transfer already working in 9 states.Also the General Economic & Empowerment Program, GEEP ”“ a micro credit scheme has provided around 60,000 loans; the National Homegrown School Feeding Program has provided 25 million meals to over 1 million primary school pupils in no fewer than seven states and at least 11,000 cooks have also been contracted.
