Alamieyeseigha to Be Buried March 26

The former governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, will be buried on March 26, 2016. This disclosure was made by the traditional ruler of Amasoma community and cousin to the deceased, HRH Graham Naingba. The monarch explained that the delay is to ensure that proper arrangements are put in place by the family and the state government to give a burial befitting to a man of his calibre. The monarch, who further explained that the burial rites which will begin on March 24 and end on March 26, also debunked rumours in some quarters that the late former governor may be faking his death to avoid a second persecution in a London court. The monarch said; “It’s a taboo and the gods of the entire Ogboin community made up of Amasoma, Amatolo and Otuan abhor that.”
