The recent tennis championship at Abierto Mexicano, Acapulco has produced the first set of winners for the second round. They are David Goffin, Steve Johnson, Adrian Mannarino, Borna Coric, Renzo Olivo, Gastao Elias, Guido Pella and Jordan Thompson.David Goffin progressed to the last 16 after he lost three games against Stephane Robert in Acapulco.David Goffin moved into the second round of the Abierto Mexicano in Acapulco, while John Isner was the first seed knocked out of the tournament.The tennis championship at Acapulco, Mexico features five of the world’s top 11 in action. Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal will begin their campaigns on Tuesday night. Meanwhile Goffin became the first to register his name on the victory list on the opening day of the first round.The Belgian, seeded fifth and ranked just outside the world’s top 10, has already lost in two finals this year, but he had little trouble against France’s Stephane Robert.Goffin lost just three games but he emerged in 54 minutes to book a slot in the second round. He would either meet any of Britain’s Kyle Edmund or American Sam Querrey whose game is to be decided on Tuesday.Djokovic and Nadal are both in action on day two.Djokovic accepted a wild card and faces an awkward first round opponent in the shape of Martin Klizan. His Spanish counterpart, Nadal is to contend with a tougher opponent, Mischa Zverev, who sent Andy Murray out in the Australian Open in the fourth round.Also in the first round, Isner lost the battle of the Americans as he went down in straight sets to world No 26 Steve Johnson.Novak Djokovic is in action on day twoJohnson, was a quarter-finalist in Delray Beach last week. He played his way to victory with a 6-4 6-4 result and will face another American in round two after Ernesto Esobedo justified his wild card with a victory over Stefan Kozlov.The trio of Adrian Mannarino, Borna Coric and Jordan Thompson also booked their place in the last 16. For Mannarino and Thompson, they both came from a set down to secure three set victories.
