APC Plans to Rig Bayelsa Polls – PDP

Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressive Congress (APC) of planning to rig the December 5 governorship poll in the state.Speaking at the stakeholders meeting organised by the electoral umpire in Yenagoa, Governor Seriake Dickson alleges that supporters of the APC have been boasting that the December 5 election would be won through “federal might.”He therefore called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to properly investigate the allegation in order to protect the integrity of the ballot box and the electoral system.He warned that failure to investigate will result in the loss of credibility of the electoral process. He stressed the need for a level playing field for all the candidates in the coming election.“But my position as governor and even as a candidate is that security agencies need maximum support as they have the support of the government and people of this state to move against anybody whether the person is a member of the PDP, APC or any party, there should be no discrimination.”
