APC Publicity Secretary says Tinubu to be investigated for anti-party activities.

APC, Nigeria’s ruling Political party may be planning to investigate its National Leader, BolaTinubu and some members of the party loyal to him for anti-party activities.There’s an allegation that Tinubu is backing the Alliance for Democracy, AD, in next month’sgovernorship election in Ondo State.Tinubu is said to be supporting Chief Olusola Oke, one of the governorship aspirants in theparty’s primary in Ondo State who had recently defected  to AD due to claims of electoralmalpractice in the election.The former Lagos State governor’s action was not unconnected with the failure of his rumouredcandidate in the APC primary, Olusegun Abraham to clinch the governorship ticket, whichRotimi Akeredolu won.Meanwhile, sources within APC claim they have proofs indicating that Tinubu is funding Oke.Confirming the investigation, the Publicity Secretary of the Ondo State chapter of APC,Abayomi Adesanya, said some members loyal to Tinubu are believed to be involved in someactivities against the party.Stressing that expulsion is the only punishment for anti-party activities, Abayomi said thenational body of the party would investigate and recommend appropriate action against anynational leader found wanting, the Punch reports.According to Abayomi, “We have yet to confirm if our National Leader is involved in anti-partyactivities but we will investigate; we are very sure that some of his boys here are involved inanti-party activities but when it is time, appropriate action would be meted to them.“Anti-party action is a serious offence in any political party and in our own party, total expulsionis the penalty.”
