The Federal High Court Abuja, presided over by Justice James Tsoho, today (Monday), fixed Friday, as the day to deliver ruling on a bail application, instituted by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and founder of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, alongside two others. Kanu is answering questions on charges of treason, made against him by the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN). The judge gave the date after lawyers in the criminal matter made counter-submissions on the bail application. It would be recalled that Justice Tsoho had on January 20, when the IPOB boss was docked together with two others; Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi, directed the Department of State Service (DSS), to release the defendants for remand in Kuje Prison. He had been in the custody of the DSS from the time he was apprehended in a hotel in Lagos on October 14, 2015 with respect to his agitation and radio broadcast for the secession of the Republic of Biafra from Nigeria.
