This threat was given on his trial which resumed on Tuesday. In the trial ruling, Federal High Court Justice Binta Nyoko gave the federal government the permission to protect and shield the identities of the witnesses billed to testify against Kanu. Nyako said the witnesses who were mostly secret operatives would not be disclosed as they would testify against the defendants from behind a screen provided by the court.Nyako however pointed out that the defendants and counsel would be allowed to see the witnesses as they would enter and exit the courtroom through a special door. This ruling was immediately rejected by Kanu who called it a travesty of justice. He condemned the ruling and demanded to stand his trial publicly. He accused the government of publicly killing his people and having disregard for court orders. He also made allegations that the federal government had devised a plot to import foreigners to testify against him.Kanu, alongside three other pro-Biafra agitators, Mr. Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi is facing an 11 count charge of reasonable felony and involvement in acts of terrorism.
