Boko Haram Terrorists Hides Explosives in Fruits, Vegetables- DHQ

The Defence Headquarters has raised an alarm that the Boko Haram insurgents have now resorted to hiding explosive devices in fruits and vegetables. The fruits and vegetables, according to the military high command, are being hawked in wheel barrows in markets and crowded places in the Northeast. The DHQ in a statement on Thursday issued by the Director of Defence Information, Brig. Gen. Rabe Abubakar, noted that the intention of the terrorists was to disguise as fruits and vegetable vendors, so as to gain ample room to detonate the explosives. The statement says the the terrorists now hide IEDs under vegetable wares in carts and wheelbarrows and move to crowded places where they detonate them so as to get maximum casualties. The recent terrorist attack in the Northeast is a case in point. The statement further explains that since the Boko Haram terror group have been effectively dislodged and decimated, they have begun some systematic isolated attacks mainly on soft targets in their desperation to remain relevant. The Defence Headquarters therefore advises the general public to constantly be alert to this latest terrorist tactic and to report promptly any suspicious persons or objects to the nearest security agency.
