The immediate past governor of Imo State and the Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, Sen Rochas Okorocha, has been arrested by the operatives of the State Police force.
Newsbreakers gathered that the police also arrested Ijeoma Igboanusi; Okorocha’s deputy chief of staff (Domestics) and Lasbrey Okafor-Anyanwu; the Commissioner for Transportation in Okorocha’s government.
The police arrested them on Sunday, February 21, after he and his supporters, policemen, soldiers, and personnel of the National Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), stormed the Spring Palm Estate allegedly owned by his wife, Nkechi, and unsealed it after the State Government had sealed it earlier.
According to reports, many people were injured and vehicles were damaged as the supporters of the former governor clashed with the government officials.
Confirming Okorocha’s arrest, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, said he will be arraigned on Monday, February 22.
