(BREAKING) Senatorial Poll: Appeal Court Throws Out Ekwunife’s Election

Enugu division of the Court of Appeal on Monday threw out the election of Senator Uche Ekwunife representing Anambra Central Senatorial District.The appellate court subsequently issued a directive that a fresh election should be held within 90 days.Delivering judgment in a petition initiated by former national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA), Chief Victor Umeh, the court, in its decision read by Justice Datijo Yahaya, held that the election of Ekwunife on March 28, 2015, did not meet the prescription of the Electoral Act.
