A couple, Mr. Fatai Jimoh and Mrs. Lateefah Jimoh have been sentenced to die by hanging after being found guilty of murder. The couple were both sentenced to death by Justice Adedotun Onibokun of the Osun State High Court, Ile-Ife yesterday.

They were both arraigned on June 2nd, 2014 on a 3-count charge of murder and armed robbery which are both punishable offences by law.According to the prosecutor, Mr. Moses Faremi, he told the court that the couple had conspired to murder Mrs. Bukola Taiwo at Ikeketu village near Garage Olode in Ife South council on the 12th of August, 2009.He said that the husband had gone into the room of Mrs. Taiwo and strangled her while his wife bludgeoned her forehead with a sledge hammer before they carted away with the deceased’s N48,780.Witnesses included a police inspector, a UCH Ibadan pathologist, the Baale of Ikeketu land and a neighbour who saw what had transpired and alerted others.
