A chief magistrates’ court sitting in Kaduna, has ordered the remand in prison custody, of the Shi’ite Islamic sect leader, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.The Police dragged him before the magistrates’ court on charges of conspiracy and inciting public disturbances.Confirming the development, Police spokesperson, Olabisi Kolawole, explained that, “The Shi’ite leader has been arraigned in a magistrates’ court and charged with criminal conspiracy, inciting public disturbances, among others. He has been remanded in prison custody and the case adjourned.”It would be recalled that El-Zakzaky was arrested after his members reportedly blocked the convoy of the Chief of Army Staff in Zaria, which resulted in a clash with the soldiers. Many of the sect members died in the process.
