The Delta state government has just revealed that 32 billion naira was disbursed on road construction in the state from 2015 to 2016.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Works of the state, Mr. James Augoye at a ministerial briefing organized by the state’s Ministry of Information at Asaba. According to him, road construction and development were the objectives and accomplishments of the SMART agenda of the government. He also went further to state that the ministry had embarked on road construction between May 2015 and November 2016, covering over 282 kilometres of concrete lined drains with a total expenditure of N32.9 billion with the cost of projects presently handled by the ministry, including those from past administration totalling about N110 billion.Present also at the briefing, the Secretary to the state government, Mr. Festus Ovie-Agas has commended the administration of the present governor, Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa over the harmony built among indigenes of the state which has made the state receptive for investments.He also mentioned that the 41-member peace building and advisory council commissioned by the governor has been made to settle cases of disputes among communities and also foster peace and harmony.Discover more from NewsBreakers
