DONALD TRUMP DECLARED 45TH PRESIDENT OF THE US

After 8 years of being defied the Presidency, the Republicans went ahead to clinch the White House as President-Elect, Donald .J. Trump becomes the 45^th President of the United States winning 289 electoral votes of the required 270 votes; while gaining 70 votes ahead of Former Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton; amidst tears, plunging the World and the global market into tension.Donald Trump won battleground states of Iowa, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Ohio ahead of Hilary accomplishing a feat no Republican nominee had since 2004.Although five states are yet to be called, it has been estimated that Hilary would win in four while Trump would win in one. This still does nothing to the validation of Trump as President-elect, as he already is ahead with 19 extra votes.Issues surrounding gun control, gay marriage, Trade, Abortion, Immigration, foreign policy, economy and jobs, health care were key in voters’ preference of both candidates.Global markets unexpectedly began plunging in the wake of Trump’s win since a Clinton win was expected.Republicans are also taking control of Senate and House elections.Donald Trump would be the first President without any relative experience in politics to occupy the White House. He has been receiving calls from around the world, including Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton (who conceded by phone), congratulating him on his victory.In his victory speech, Donald Trump was quoted as saying “It is time for us to come together and be united.” “I will be president for all Americans.” This speech comes at a backlash of bitter, toxic and divisive campaign speeches where he suggested dislike for African-Americans, Latinos and immigrants in general indicating his willingness to “work together and unify our great country”¦..and renew the American dream”. He said.  The election of Donald J Trump would be the harbinger of a united America in a movement. Hilary ClintonFrom US Senator to First Lady and then back to running for presidency on the Democratic ticket, Hilary Clinton was presumed to be the next and first female president America “never had.” Unfortunately, she fell short of Donald Trump in states like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan clearly cut out for her win.A distraught Clinton is yet to give her concession speech after her campaign manager, John Podesta, mounted the podium addressing supporters to go home after a Donald Trump win was speculated. Quoted as saying “I accept your nomination” in one of her presidential debates, Clinton and her campaign is yet to come to terms with reality after overcoming pools of hurdles thrown at her during the campaign especially that involving the FBI and her private server emails.Even with the coalition of past president Obama and the endorsement of several super stars, from Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Husband, Jay Z; Lebron James and Jon Bon Jovi, Clinton failed to ascend to Presidency.The victory of an unprecedented and inexperienced “outsider” indicates a new dawn for American politics and the world at large.A lot of symbolic issues would stare the President-elect harshly in the face as he assumes the highest position in modern day America in a fragile environment, but his conciliatory victory speech indicates his drive to move America forward.
