Don’t Tamper With Palace Structure, Court Orders Emir Sanusi

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, was on Friday, restrained by a Kano High Court from either demolishing or tampering with any structure in the Kano Emir’s palace pending the hearing of a motion on notice.The court, presided over by Justice A.T. Badamasi also stopped the Emir and the Emirate Council from giving quit notice or evicting any person residing inside the palace known as Gidan Rumfa until the determination of the substantive application.More so, Justice Badamasi mandated the parties involved to maintain ‘status quo’ pending the determination of the substantive suit.The matter has been adjourned till November 12, 2015 for hearing of the motion on notice.
