By

Almost a year and a half after the rapid shooting at Charleston Church, South Carolina, White Supremacist, Dylann Roof is likely to face the death penalty after being found culpable of all 33-count hate crime.Image result for White Supremacist, Dylann RoofRoof, 22, was found guilty less than 2 hours by a jury on Thursday of crimes resulting in death. The attack carried out in June 17th 2015, on a Bible Study group at the historic Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, popularly known as “Mother Emanuel” reveals the deepening divide between the White and Black people of America and the inability to enforce gun control in the US.Federal Prosecutor Nathan Williams describing the crime as cruel and calculated said during his closing argument “He executed them because he believed they were nothing more than animals. His actions in the church are the best reflections of the vastness of his hatred.”Roof, devoid of remorse in a videotape confession to the FBI, revealed “he had to do it” because he believed nobody was putting a stop to what he had read online about black-on-white- hate crime.Efforts by defence Lawyer, David Bruck, to consider the shooting as a case of mental imbalance proved abortive.U.S District Judge, Richard Gergel dismissed all Jurors adjourning the case to January 3rd, when the next phase begins.
