Edo 2016: Obaseki Wins APC Governorship Ticket

After a vigorous contest, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, national delegation that conducted the governorship primary election in Edo State, led by the governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari, on Sunday declared Godwin Obaseki as the winner and flag bearer of the party for the election slated for September 10, 2016. The Katsina governor declared that Obaseki scored 1,618 votes to defeat his 11 other opponents. In describing the result as credible, fair and free, Masari advised those who lost and their supporters to close ranks and throw their weight behind Obaseki ahead of the crucial governorship election in the state.
