Former Governor of Abia state, Orji Uzor Kalu, has been indicted before a Federal High Court in Lagos by the Economic and Financial crimes Commission (EFCC)following alleged acts of money laundering. The governor, who was formerly censured before Justice Adamu Bello (RTD) in Abuja on alleged diversion of about 3.2bn from the state’s treasury during his tenure in office, has since appealed to the Court to coerce the Commission to summon him before an Abuja Court.He is also facing a 34-count charge alongside his commissioner for Finance and his company- SLOK Limited.
