Fani-Kayode is Still under Investigation – EFCC

The anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, yesterday revealed that it is still carrying out investigations on the spokesperson of the PDP’s Presidential Campaign Organisation for the 2015 elections, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode. The EFCC stated that the allegation against him was fresh and different from the case of the N800million which the former Minister of Aviation allegedly received as campaign fund from the $2.1billion meant for procurement of arms. The anti-graft agency at the Federal High Court in Apo, Abuja, reiterated that it received a fresh petition against the former minister by its Special Task Force in its Lagos office, which prompted it to move him from Abuja to Lagos. According to the Counsel for the EFCC, Mr. Salisu Majidadi, who appeared before Justice Olukayode Adeniyi, on behalf of the commission, opposed a fundamental human rights enforcement suit filed by Fani-Kayode, seeking an order releasing him from the custody of the anti-graft agency. Meanwhile, Chief Ifedayo Adedipe (SAN), who is Fani-Kayode’s lawyer earlier argued his client’s suit, insisted that the commission having failed to present the fresh petition as exhibit before the court, showed there was no proof that there was any ongoing investigation of his client.
