FG Plans to Adopt New Approach for Job Creation — Minister

Dr. Chris Ngige the new Minister of Labour and Employment, has revealed that the Federal Government has plans to design a new approach to tackle the massive unemployment in the country.He said that the new approach would help to improve the economy and will also benefit the people.Ngige, made this known on Tuesday in Umuahia when he revealed that his ministry would give attention to skill acquisition to enable people to be self-employed as against being job seekers.The National Directorate of Employment, NDE, at Ugwunagbo Local Government Area, invited the Minister to commission an ICT skill acquisition centre completed in the state.He said that the NDE was committed to solving the problem of unemployment in the state. The Minister added that NDE would keep a database of employed, unemployed, employable, under-employed and gainfully employed youths of the country for easy assessment.
