Dress for the industry

Now, we wouldn’t take the liberty of making the bold assumption that you are getting interviewed for an office job. As such, we cannot say that you should put on a suit and tie. Indeed, these go well for virtually any interview. However, you’d do a lot better to dress in accordance with your industry. If you are applying for a more creative job, you don’t want to look too stuck up and as though you can’t think outside the box as the job requires. Now, we’re not saying you should go overboard and dress inappropriately. Rather, what we’re saying is that you should wear what is appropriate for the kind of job you’re going for.

Dress comfortably

Regardless of what you eventually decide to put on, ensure that it is comfortable for you. This is so because if you aren’t comfortable during the interview, it will be all too glaring. In addition to that, it can be a tad embarrassing too. Imagine wearing a pair of dashing trousers that are too tight for you. You’d spend the entire day plucking them out of your pubic region. That is definitely not something you want to do in front of a potential employer, or anyone really.

Do not use too much body spray

You should smell nice, but you shouldn’t go overboard in your attempt to do so. If you will be interviewed behind closed doors, the importance of this cannot be overstated. The last thing you want to do is to choke your interviewer with the smell of your cologne.

Have fresh breath

The importance of this cannot be overstated. Before leaving your house, brush your teeth properly. It’s not very likely that you have a habit of cleaning your mouth with salt water; but if you do, a job interview is not the time to do that. Brush your teeth and use mouth wash if necessary. If you’ve kept quiet for a while and you can’t vouch for your freshness any longer, pop a mint into your mouth just before the interview.
