Fresh strings of terror attacks kill eight in Maiduguri

Scene of suicide bombing at Muna Garage area of MaiduguriRecent attacks by five suicide bombers have claimed the lives of eight people including the suicide bombers in a string of explosions in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.The series of bomb blasts occurred around 4am Wednesday in three locations around Muna Garage area of Maiduguri.Muna Kumbori, was the first place that came under attack, according to an unofficial host community. The camp of the 199 internally displaced persons (IDPs) was attacked by three suicide bombers leading to the death of two persons.Muna Dagalti, the second place attacked by a suicide bomber, killed both the bomber and another person.Muna Bulaya was also attacked by a suicide bomber who was the only victim.The five suicide bombers were all male adults involved in the incidents which claimed the lives of three innocent persons, bringing the number to eight.No fewer than 20 victims with various degrees of injuries were given first aid treatment by emergency response teams and transported to the state specialist hospital, while the remains of the dead have been kept in the mortuary.Suicide bombing is a new strategy used by the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists since 2009 when it began its campaign against modern education and this has caused the death of at least 100,000 persons.
