FRSC to Release 36,000 Personnel on Patrol as Christmas Approaches

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has reiterated that it has plans to deploy 36,000 of its personnel to highways across the country for patrol to ensure safety during the festive season.Mr Boboye Oyeyemi the Corps Marshal of the Commission made this statement during a familiarisation visit to the FRSC command in Minna, Niger State on Wednesday.The Corp Marshal said that 21, 000 regular marshals and 15, 000 special marshals would be on standby for the assignment during the period.He further stated that this was necessary to ensure that road accidents were reduced to the barest minimum during the period.Oyeyemi also said 200 mobile courts would be setup at strategic points on the highways to try traffic offenders during the period.
