“Handsome” Man Wins Mr. Ugly Contest in Zimbabwe

A cross section of the audience at the annual Mr. Ugly contest in Zimbabwe has decried the criteria used to choose Mison Sere, as the winner of the competition. Mr Sere smiled home with a cash price of $500. The runner up, William Masvinu, got $100. The audience insisted that Sere has not got what it takes to be the winner of the contest. They said that basing the winning criteria of the event on just missing teeth was not “natural enough”. When asked about the motivation behind the event, David Machowa, organiser of the event, said there was a need to give ugly people the opportunity to make money with their looks since models also do that. Sere believes that winning this competition will bring him fame and fortune. He also hopes to go into TV presenting very soon.
