Ikpeazu Files Appeal against Removal from Office

Governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu has filed an application for stay of execution at the Court of Appeal in Abuja against the ruling of Justice Okon Abang of the federal high court ordering his removal from office, according to Enyinnaya Appolos, chief press secretary, to Okezie Ikpeazu. On Monday, the federal high court had ordered Governor Ikpeazu to vacate office, and declared that Uche Ogar, who came second at the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) primary”Ž, be declared winner instead. Justice Abang ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to immediately issue a certificate of return to the plaintiff, Uche Ogar.
