By

October 17 has been scheduled for resumed hearing of the case involving the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu by an Abuja Division of the Federal High Court. The trial of Kanu and three other persons, namely David Nwawuisi, Benjamin Madubugwu and Chidiebere Onwudiwe has been ongoing for alleged treasonable offences.Kanu, alongside other accused persons, was granted bail on conditional grounds and his trial was earlier billed to hold on Tuesday following Justice Binta Nyako’s bail order in April. The accused was conditioned to stay away from a group of persons numbering more than 10.The defending counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, told reporters after the court session on April 25 that the defendant needed to know the variation of the number of persons involved in any case.Kanu has had a session with some groups including the Jewish community and traditional leaders on his demand for the State of Biafra.
