James Faleke, running mate to the late governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Abubakar Audu, has approached the Kogi State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.Faleke is questioning the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to declare the November 21 governorship election in the state inconclusive.Late Audu’s running mate posited that the election had already been won and lost prior to the supplementary poll. He therefore maintained that he should be declared winner of the election.
While expressing confidence in the judiciary, Faleke noted that he did not join the APC as a respondent in the suit.He explained that he is confronting the decision of INEC to declare the election inconclusive, when in the actual fact, the result showed that the election was concluded and won by the APC ticket of Messrs. Audu and Faleke.
