LASACO Donates Computers, CPUs, UPS to School

In a bid to boost education and provide sound and quality education to Nigerian citizens, LASACO Assurance Plc has shown it is one company that is ready to lead when it donated ultra-modern information and communications technology equipment worth millions of Naira to the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Enugu.Mr. Sola Ladipo-Ajayi, the Group Managing Director of LASACO Assurance Plc who made the presentation disclosed that the company saw the need to partner with government to fund education and bridge the gap in ICT usage among Nigerian students.LASACO Managing Director said: “Our definition of insurance goes beyond the orthodox of insuring life, goods, and other assets, to us supporting education is another fund of insurance with good dividend for the society at large.”He reiterated that the socio-economic life of the country stands to gain tremendously if funding and education support is a collective work which is not left to government alone.He also encouraged other corporate organizations to contribute join the good cause. According to him, “We are motivated to donate ICT equipment because of our belief in what it can do. Our successes as a company in the recent times received great inputs from the application of technology to our operations.”Rector of the institution, Dr. (Mrs.) K.B. Sofoluwe, who received 50 units of desktop computers, central processing units (CPUs) and uninterrupted power supply (UPS), gave an assurance to the LASACO team that the school management would work relentlessly to restore the school’s lost glory as the best in the entire West African sub region; adding that it has produced world class dental practitioners in the past.
