Reigning World Player of the year, Robert Lewandowski, is set to miss Poland’s crucial World Cup qualifier against England after suffering an injury in his right knee.
The Polish Football Association who made the announcement said Lewandowski will return to Bayern Munich to undergo further rehabilitation.
The statement added, “Healing from this type of injury usually takes between five and ten days. Therefore Robert Lewandowski will return to the club where he will undergo further rehabilitation.”
The forward faces a race against time to be fit for Bayern Munich’s game against Paris Saint Germain in the UEFA Champions League on April 7.
