MTN Agrees to Pay 330bn Fine to Nigeria

Telecommunications giant, MTN, has agreed to pay a fine of N330bn to the Federal Government of Nigeria. The company which is headquartered in South Africa said, on Friday, that it will pay 330 billion naira ($1.67 billion), a third of its initial fine, over three years to the Nigerian government to settle the fine.The mobile operator was fined $5.2billion by the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) in October 2015 for failing to disconnect unregistered users on its network.
