As part of the plan to increase facilities for easy conduct of the Computer Based Tests (CBT), the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has built four centres for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).Prof. Umar Danbatta, who is the Executive Vice-Chairman (EVC), made this known to some JAMB officials who paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.The four centres are; Kano, Niger, Bayelsa and Oyo states and they are fully equipped with computers, printers, other accessories and Internet connectivity.The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde who led the team was assured by Danbatta that NCC executes every project in line with international standards.Danbatta said; “we have a minimum standard that we maintain for all our projects and there is no exception.”According to him; “standards are necessary for projects to be appreciated, NCC is intervening not only in the provision of CBT for JAMB, but provision of equipment for tertiary institutions through Advance Digital Appreciation Programme for Tertiary Institutions (ADAPTI).”“ADAPTI is aimed at bridging Digital divide in tertiary institutions through the provision of computers and other ICT facilities to equip the lecturers and other experts in order to improve their ICT skills.”
