Nigerian Government Flags off Fertilizer Distribution, Flood Mitigation in Kogi

All is set for the flag-off of the fertilizer distribution to farmers & flood mitigation advocacy in Kogi State. This distribution exercise is in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and comprises of fertilizers, seeds/seedlings, agrochemicals and knapsack sprayers The Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, disaster management and social development, Mrs Sadiya Umar Farouq is in Kogi State to flag off fertilizer distribution to farmers & flood mitigation advocacy. She is also at the Government House on a courtesy visit to HE Governor Yahaya Bello. While in Kogi, the Minister will run a spot check analysis of the two months cycle of the Conditional Cash Transfer approved by President Buhari under the Emergency Agricultural Intervention Programme for farmers affected by conflicts & flood in 2018 and NSIP respectively. This intervention was approved in 2019 and implementation commenced with verification of affected farmers which was closely followed by the distribution of farm inputs and seeds. Source: VON
