Onuigbo leaves Enyimba after expiration of contract

The former Heartland striker has left the Aba giants by mutual consent at the end of his short contract and will be seeking a fresh challenge elsewhere

 Ifeanyi Onuigbo has been released by Enyimba Football Club after the end of his short contract with the club.
“Enyimba FC would like to announce the contract expiration of striker Ifeanyi Onuigbo,” the club wrote in a release.“We thank him for his contributions to the team and we wish him all the best. We are undergoing reorganizations in the team and we will be coming with more in due course.“We didn’t perform to expectation in the outgoing season that has ended for us with the game with FC IfeanyiUbah. We are hoping to bounce back in style next season.”Onuigbo was a part of Enyimba’s Caf Champions League team that reached the group phase of the tournament after making a mid-season switch from Heartland. He also made a handful of appearances in the Nigeria Professional Football League before his deal expired in their final game of the season against FC IfeanyiUbah which the club lost. For the first time in several seasons, Enyimba are destined to end the campaign outside the top 10 after having 50 points from 36 games.
