A pregnant woman, her husband and his friend have been imprisoned in Lagos for kidnapping a 23 year old man, Idris Saheed and demanding a N100,000 ransom.

They were arrested after the payment of the N100,000 ransom was paid into the account of the woman’s husband Paul Kareem, 23. The wife, Eniola Kareem, 21, claimed to be the brain behind the plot, said she brought up the idea of kidnapping Idris as he came from a wealthy background.Idris thinking Eniola was still single, called to tell her of his visit to her house, this prompted the kidnap which Paul and his friend, Ayoola Sodiq, 21 carried out by tying him with a rope. Demanding a ransom of N100,000 which was paid three days later, the money was shared between the three of them with Sodiq and Eniola receiving N30,000 each and Paul taking N40,000.They were however tracked down and arrested by the police. They claimed not to have maltreated Idris in any form as he was gentle and co-operative.They also said it was their first time kidnapping a person as they had never done it before.
