The president commiserated the death of veteran journalist, Abdulkarim Albashir who passed away on Monday. The president was joined by the Kaduna state governor, Mr, Nasir El-Rufai along with friends and family of the deceased and the Nigerian Union of Journalists in mourning the death of the exceptional writer who tackled social ills and misconducts and also provided a voice to the voiceless.
The president commented that he believed that the great legacy of the writer would be long remembered and also prayed that God grant the family comfort and solace in wake of the loss.In a statement made by his spokesperson, the Kaduna state governor described Mr. Albashir as a seasoned journalist who practised journalism according to the best ethics. He further went on to state that his death has left a huge vacuum in Nigerian journalism, considering the enormous challenges and battle for the nation’s peace and stability.Discover more from NewsBreakers
