Rangers save coach from fan attack

Reports reaching us confirms the suspension of the technical adviser, Rangers Football Club of Enugu, Imama Amapakabo, “for security reasons.’’Spokesman of Rangers Football Club, Foster Chime, remarked that the supporters were restive over the dismal performance of the club in recent time.Chime told NAN in Enugu on Monday that the Club’s decision became necessary on the heels of the supporters action towards him after a 2-2 draw with Zesco United of Zambia on April 9.“The supporters nearly beat him up after we conceded two goals advantage, within four minutes to the Zambians.“Some supporters went after him, but for the security personnel that escorted him out, it would have been a calamity.“So, the management has no option than to ask him to step aside so that he will stop being a target of the fans’’, he said.Chime recalled the management’s decision to keep Amapakabo with his inability to deliver on the three-match target given to him. This was in an attempt to allow him improve at his own pace.“It is unfortunate that the supporters revolted over the club’s performance against Zesco Utd and Amapakabo happened to be their target’’, he lamented.Rangers of Enugu believes the suspended coach can do wonders hence, has decided to keep him a little while.
