Markets in Ado-Ekiti were forced to reduce the prices of foodstuff by the president of the Market Women’s Association, popularly known as Iyaloja. The president, Mrs. Omowaye Oso led a taskforce team into markets to enact the change in the prices of foodstuff.
According to NAN, it was reported that the team visited the Oja Oba and Bisi Egbeyemi markets in Ado-Ekiti.Mrs. Oso ordered market sellers to stop selling foodstuff at excessive prices after complaints from buyers who accused sellers of taking advantage of the current naira depreciation as an excuse to rip them off. The Iyaloja personally sold the foodstuff to buyers at a reduced rate.Mrs. Oso reported that the state government and the Ewi of Ado- Ekiti, Adeyemo Adejugbe were in full support of the raid.Discover more from NewsBreakers
