This was said by Ali Ndume after meeting with President Buhari at the State House on Monday.Last Thursday, Abdullahi Sabi, the spokesperson for the Senate announced that the Senate had rejected the nomination of Ibrahim Magu as EFCC chairman by President Buhari but Mr. Ndume gave a contradictory position on Monday, stressing that Magu’s confirmation was not rejected.”˜We did not reject Ibrahim Magu as EFCC Chairman’, said Mr. Ndume.Rather, he said the Senate stepped down the confirmation of Magu until issues raised in the SSS report about him were being resolved. He further stated that the Senate would seek understanding with the President on whether to proceed with the confirmation.Mr. Abdullahi did not pick calls when being contacted about the authenticity of his statement. The SSS claims that Magu’s dismissal was based on his luxurious lifestyle and rented apartment in Abuja paid for by a questionable businessman and also he was found to have partaken in some professional misconducts in previous positions he held at EFCC.According to Premium Times, several inaccuracies were found to be in the SSS report.
