Senate on Thursday refused to confirm Acting EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu, as Chairman of the Commission; earlier submitted by President Buhari.
The confirmation hearing, scheduled to hold 5 months ago was confirmed by the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremmadu, during the plenary session on Wednesday, to hold on Thursday.Unfortunately, Senate did not profile the confirmation in the Order Paper for business on Thursday.Ibrahim Magu and some EFCC officials were seen at the Senate this Morning for the confirmation meeting which did not hold. The President had written to the Senate in June this year seeking Magu’s screening and endorsement. However, the letter was not read until a month later by Senate President Bukola Saraki. This action fuels rumours that some Senators are not desirous of an Ibrahim-led EFCC
