Senator Sani’s Suspension Upheld by Kaduna APC

The 11-month suspension of Senator Shehu Sani, representing Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone, has been upheld by the Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC). It would be recalled that suspended Senator Sani had been suspended by his Tudun Wada ward of the party on Monday. But in what seemed like a dramatic twist of things, some executive members of the ward, yesterday (Tuesday) refuted involvement in the said suspension, just as they put up an argument, that their signatures were forged. In spite of this denial, the state chapter of the APC, in a press statement signed by its Assistant Publicity Secretary, Salisu Tanko Wusono, insisted that the APC had no other option than to uphold the suspension so as to restore discipline to the party. The statement reads; “Following the rules and procedure laid down by the constitution, we shall uphold our commitments and defend the constitution of the APC at all times. “In this quest, having exhausted all avenues available to us in the party, we are left with no option than to uphold the suspension of Comrade Shehu Sani as a member of the party for a period of 11 months. “By this suspension, he is to desist from all party activities until the suspension is lifted. “The party calls on all its members to be law abiding as we move forward to fulfil our campaign promises.”
