Stop Attacking Judges, CJN Tells Politicians

Politicians across the country have all been warned to shy away from attacking judges and to also stop disparaging the integrity and reputation of the Nigerian judiciary.The Chief Justice of Nigeria in a statement through his media aide in Abuja, Ahuraka Isah, while reacting to statements credited to some politically exposed persons, state governors and even lawyers who alleged bias in their reactions to outcomes of some governorship, national and state assembly election petition tribunal matters in the country.The said politicians had further alleged that some of the verdicts were influenced by money and political pressure.According to the statement, “His lordship insists that the fight against corruption is a collective responsibility especially amongst public officials, particularly the state governors who are equally the chief security officers of their respective states.”
