The Supreme Court of Nigeria on Wednesday night, upheld the election of Victor Okezie Ikpeazu as the governor of Abia State. It would be recalled that the Abia governor had headed to the Supreme Court on the reason that he was not satisfied with the judgment of the Court of Appeal, which had declared his main opponent, Alex Otti of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), as the winner of the April 11, 2015 governorship election. In a similar development, the Apex Court also upheld the election of Udom Emmanuel as the governor of Akwa Ibom State. The Supreme Court reversed the judgement of the Court of Appeal, which had annulled his election. It would be recalled that Emmanuel had approached the Apex Court where he expressed dissatisfaction with the judgement of the Appellate Court
