Popular Nigerian musical artistes, Wizkid and Tekno were the biggest winners at the Soundcity MVP Awards which was held on the 29th of December, 2016 at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos.

Tekno went home with three awards: Digital Artiste of the Year, Song of the Year and the Listeners Choice Awards.Wizkid, arguably the most decorated artiste of 2016 bagged two awards; Best Male Artiste and African Artiste of the Year.Olamide won the Best Collaboration Award with Phyno, Yemi Alade took home the Best Female Award beating other nominees like Tiwa Savage, Simi, Victoria Kimani from Kenya and Vanessa Mdee from Tanzania.The MVP Awards was hosted by Comedian Basket Mouth and co-hosted by Dotun. There were also various performances from Olamide, Lil Kesh, Tekno, Niniola, Koker, Victoria Kimani.
