Ekiti state governor, Gov. Ayodele Fayose has condemned the decision of the federal government to commence the increase in Pay As You Earn (PAYE) tax, pension and National Housing Fund (NHF) deduction applied on gross salary, thus reducing total salary received by workers by 30 percent.
He commented that this was an inhuman way of reducing workers salary especially in the present economic recession and that the president was using the recession as a tool to punish Nigerians during his tenure as civilian president. The governor also said that it seemed the All Progressive Congress (APC) party was hell bent on frustrating Nigerians. He however sympathized with the workers on the cut in salaries and urged the federal government to reverse such a decision.Discover more from NewsBreakers
